A Short Story: A Short Trip to Nan Province
This is a short story about a two-day, two-night trip to Nan Province, Thailand. The author shares their experiences and highlights what can be accomplished in such a short timeframe.
Temple of the Small Mountain Relic
This is a translation of the Thai phrase "วัดพระธาตุเขาน้อย," which refers to a specific temple in Thailand. The translation is concise and avoids unnecessary embellishments, while still conveying the meaning of the original phrase.
Journey to Nan: A Breathtaking Sunrise Awaits
Embark on a road trip from Bangkok, leaving behind the city's bustle for the serene landscapes of Nan. Wash your face, brush your teeth, and greet the dawn at the province's iconic landmark. Ascend to the peak where the majestic Buddha statue stands, bestowing blessings upon all who behold it. From this vantage point, witness the panoramic vista of Nan city unfold before you. In the early hours, as the rainy season transitions into the cool winter months, mist gently envelops the surroundings, creating a breathtaking spectacle as the sun emerges from the horizon, casting its golden rays upon the scene.
Descend from the mountain to find something to eat to fill your stomach, then stop by to whisper love to Grandpa Man and Grandma Man, the legendary image of whispering love that is famous all over the world, at Wat Phumin.
The winding road, known as the Nan Skywalk, leads to the final destination, the Sintawee Salt Mine. Here, visitors can witness the traditional methods of salt production.

Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park
Located in Si Nan National Park, Sri Sakat Subdistrict, Na Noi District, Nan Province, this mountain is a long, open ridge with a 360-degree panoramic view. We can stand there to count the stars, stand there to feel the cold, and stand there to greet the sunrise.
Complete your trip with all three periods, evening, night, and morning.
The evening is amazing. Feeling a bit lonely, the music video vibes are in full swing. I'm lost in the scenery, watching the sun slowly set behind the mountains. Sipping hot tea, the gentle breeze and the cool air are just right. I'm taking my time to let this moment pass slowly. Oh, just sitting here, chilling on the mountain is the best. (555)
What to do at midnight? Well, well... standing at the top of Doi Samo Dao, you must come to see the stars! The golden light fades from the horizon, darkness gradually envelops, and the sky arrives. There they are, one, two, three... stars, stars, millions of stars! The darker it is, the clearer the stars become, I tell you. Anyone who wants to see a spectacular display of stars like this must come and stand, walk, sit, lie down, breathe in, breathe out at the stargazing platform on Doi Samo Dao. You won't be disappointed (if the sky is clear ^_^).
Early in the morning at 5 a.m., the air is pleasant. Walking up the hill to watch the stars, the sky is still twinkling with stars. The distant horizon is beautifully illuminated with golden light. White mist floats through the crevices of the mountains. People are sitting and standing waiting at the shoulder of the hill, filling the entire area. I'm a little jealous of the couples who are standing cuddling each other for warmth. It's a cute and enviable sight (555). The single-killing event is here.
This morning, the light is beautiful, the fog is beautiful... Oh my, what could be better than this? This trip is full of good vibes.
A one-stop destination for all times of the day. In the evening, the sunset is magnificent. At night, the sky is adorned with millions of stars. As the sun rises from the high mountains, the mist below gently caresses the landscape. I love it! If you're wondering whether to visit, I can only say one thing: you'll regret it if you don't. ^_^
If you enjoy this type of trip, go for it! It doesn't take too long. Depart from Bangkok on Friday evening and arrive in Nan on Saturday morning. Take your time and enjoy the slow life in Nan, including the evening in the city center and the salt wells. Then head to Doi Samer Dao to watch the sunset and wait for darkness to count the stars. Around 9 pm, descend from the mountain to the city of Nan and rest. Around 5 am, take a shared taxi back up the mountain, which is about 10 kilometers away. Watch the sunrise and the sea of mist. Around 8 am, descend the mountain and find something delicious to eat in the city of Nan. In the late morning, pack your belongings and head back to Bangkok, arriving around 11 pm on Sunday.
The last image is of the Sao Din Na Noi pillar. Let's save it for the end. I'll tell you more about the next trip...
