Hello! Today I have another story to tell. This time, we took a trip to Chanthaburi, the land of fruits!

Even though it was raining, we decided to go. We traveled by car on July 15, 2017. We used 25,000 points from Readme to redeem for accommodation. There were four of us: three adults and one child (an extra 600 baht + 180 baht for breakfast for the child). We stayed at Laemsing Natural Beach Chanthaburi.

We got a 4-star room called "Baan Chom Dao" with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and 1 living room. There were two TVs, a sea view (Laem Sing Beach), and the room was very clean. There was also a swimming pool and the staff were very friendly. The WiFi was super fast! We loved it!

As for the journey, we relied on GPS as usual. Even though it sometimes leads us astray, we still trust it. Luckily, we didn't get lost this time and didn't end up in the middle of a rice field like our previous trips.

We left Bangkok around 9 am. Our first destination was Nang Phaya Hill (Khung Wiman Beach). However, we ended up driving into the city instead. We asked the locals and they told us we had already passed it. Oh well, I thought we wouldn't get lost anymore. Sigh... I guess we either get lost or go too far. Haha. T.T

Okay, so we decided to skip it for now and come back on our way back to Bangkok since it's on the way. So, we set the next destination:

"Chan Trop Bo Chana, the first branch"

When we arrived, it was very crowded with both tour groups and individual tourists. Luckily, there was still a table available.

Before we sat down, we had to order with the lady at the front. The names of the dishes on the menu were very confusing, but she gave us good recommendations. We were afraid to try some of the local dishes, so we chose familiar ones instead.

However, the names of the dishes were very creative and interesting. We ordered:

"Sea bass in tamarind and cardamom soup"

"Soft-shell crab with garlic"

"Stir-fried fiddlehead fern"

"Stir-fried pork with Bai Chom Wung"

"Salak in syrup"

"Salak jelly with shaved ice"

The total cost was 900 baht, including everything.

The food was delicious! We finished everything on our plates. It's a pity we didn't try the crab roe chili paste. Everyone else seemed to be ordering it.



Full and ready to continue the journey ....... Go Go

Initially, I planned to visit the old community by the Chanthaburi River, but it required backtracking. Therefore, I decided to stop by the Unique Dessert Community by the Nong Bua Canal instead. I heard that the "Monkey's D*ck" dessert is delicious.

Getting there is easy. Just turn on your GPS as usual, and you'll be there in less than 20 minutes.

After strolling through the walking street, the main mission of this trip was **fruit**. So, we stocked up! The prices here are incredibly low, so we bought some to enjoy at the resort and some to take home.

**Mangosteen 4 kg for 50 baht**

**School/Pink Longan 2 kg for 30 baht**

**Salak 60 baht per kg**

**Langsat 2 kg for 20 baht**

**Super sweet Rambutan 50 baht per kg**

Wow, we bought so much that our arms were aching! The fruit here is absolutely amazing... But we bought the durian on the way to the resort, right at the corner of the street. Long-stemmed durian was 150 baht per kg, Monthong was 140 baht per kg, and Pung Ma Nee was 140 baht per kg (which is quite expensive). However, on the way back, we found Monthong for only 120 baht per kg near Khung Wiman.


We arrived at the accommodation soon... We prepared the documents to submit to the officer and paid the extra fees. Then the officer escorted us to our room... Oh, all rooms are prohibited from bringing durian, otherwise you will be fined 2,000 baht.




After exploring our room for a while, we tirelessly continued to deal with the fruits we had bought. 555555 Meanwhile, we casually searched for seafood restaurants. ... Our initial goal was to go to a seafood buffet, which cost 800 baht per person. However, after some consideration, we decided it wouldn't be worth it and opted for a renowned restaurant instead. ...

After searching, we found this restaurant. We absolutely loved it! The name of the restaurant is "Sister N้อง, Ao Yang". The food was delicious, fresh, clean, and reasonably priced. ... It was also located close to our accommodation. We set the GPS and traveled for about 17 minutes.

On our way, we passed Taksin Bridge and took the opportunity to admire the view, the temple, and the monkeys. The atmosphere was fantastic.


Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were speechless. The establishment was a simple, makeshift structure, leaving us hesitant about whether to stay or leave. However, we decided to proceed, exchanging bewildered glances. This was "Auntie N้อง Aow Yang" restaurant. Despite our initial reservations, we noticed two tables occupied by customers who appeared to be from Bangkok. We discreetly observed their order, which consisted of a full table of dishes, suggesting the food was likely delicious. Convinced, we decided to find a seat.

As we sat down, we were captivated by the breathtaking view. The sun was setting, creating a stunning spectacle. We couldn't resist taking photos before ordering.

The restaurant also had a swing, perfect for photo opportunities.

After the excitement of the swing, we turned our attention to the menu in the uncle's hand... The food we ordered is as follows:

Half a kilo of horse crab / Half a kilo of sea crab / Grilled cockles / Grilled sweet clams / Salt-baked shrimp / Sun-dried squid / Mangrove crab salad / Rice omelet / Drinks

The total cost was 1,700 baht.



The food was incredibly delicious and fresh, and the staff was very friendly. As we were enjoying our crab feast, the atmosphere around our table became lively. Around 7 pm, customers started to arrive steadily until the restaurant was full. Oh my God, it was incredible! This small, unassuming restaurant was packed! The table next to us, a group of about ten people, exclaimed in unison, "Delicious, delicious, delicious, delicious, delicious!" We couldn't help but look over to see what they were eating. Hmm, they had ordered a variety of dishes, including crab curry, soup, curry, stir-fry, and fried dishes. Well, it did look delicious (we even thought about coming back for lunch the next day to try the fish dishes).

The moral of the story is... "Don't judge a book by its cover."

Well, we're full, let's go back to the hotel! ! !

Our plan for Sunday was to visit Priew Waterfall and then stop by Nang Phaya Hill before returning to Bangkok.

However, heavy rain started at 4 am, so we decided to sleep in. We woke up late in the morning and had breakfast. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am to 9:30 am. Due to the heavy rain and fallen trees, we decided to postpone our trip to the waterfall until next time.

Here's a look at the breakfast options: fried eggs, sausages, ham, seafood congee, plain rice, stir-fried seafood with basil, clear soup, bread, salad, milk, coffee, orange juice, and more.


We checked out of our accommodation around noon. Before heading back to Bangkok, we stopped by Khao Hin Ngam, which was crowded with people and surprisingly, no sunshine.

It seemed like a storm was brewing... We didn't stay there long and quickly returned to Bangkok. This trip, we were very impressed by the fruits, which were incredibly cheap and sweet. We bought a car full of them! Another highlight was Jeh Nong restaurant, where the food was affordable and fresh. The crab was delicious, and the food arrived quickly. Maybe it was the beautiful view? 5555
